Dish Network Adds 8 More HD Markets

Dish Network announced today the addition of 8 new High Definition (HD) local markets.

The new HD markets are:
Vermont -
Burlington and Plattsbugh

North Carolina -
Greensboro, High Point, and Winston Salem

South Carolina -
Greenville, Spartanburg, Asheville, Anderson

Alabama -
Huntsville
Decatur
Mobile
Pensacola (Ft. Walton Beach)

Mississippi -
Jackson

Tennessee -
Knoxville

Rhode Island -
Providence
New Bedford

Dish Network announced earlier this year they would work towards expanding their HD line-up to 100 local markets and 100 national HD channels by the end of the year. Two more satellite launches are planned this year in order to enable Dish Network to reach this goal.

Customers wishing to view HD channels from Dish Network will need a High Definition television set and upgrade to a dishHD receiver like the Vip722 dual tuner HD DVR.
